Vernal Equinox vol. 2 (ZINE), 2023
Volume 2 of Vernal Equinox, the yearly zine I started in 2022.
In 2023, from the first week of the New Year until the first day of Spring, I was in Japan. During my stay, I tried to maintain a practice of doing a single sketchbook drawing every day. I restricted myself to starting and completing my drawings on-site, so most of them are of my room, my seat at the cafe or bar, or a view from a park bench.
Last year’s zine featured recreations of memories over the course of 2021 and 2022 that were important to me, and this year’s zine features sketchbook drawings that were created in the moment. My goal of both has been the same: to remind myself and others to slow down and take stock of small moments in life that are meaningful.
